On August 11, a carbon fiber composite conductor with a cross-sectional area of 710 square millimeters was tested for performance on the 500 kV Tianyi Line in Tongxing Town, Guanyun County, and it was a success. It is reported that this wire is the world's first large-section ultra-high-voltage carbon fiber wire, which indicates that the ultra-high-voltage carbon fiber composite core wire is about to enter the stage of large-scale application. Compared with conventional power transmission wires, ultra-high-voltage carbon fiber composite core conductors have many advantages, and the starting power transmission is doubled than conventional power transmission lines. This will undoubtedly help to build a safer, environmentally-friendly and efficient energy-saving transmission network.
From the surface, there is nothing strange about this ultra-high-voltage carbon fiber wire, but the technology content is high. According to State Grid experts, the products of eight domestic manufacturers were selected as the test objects. Based on the 500 kV Tianyi Line in Tongxing Town, Guanyun County, the project was conducted on-site through carbon fiber composite conductors. 3. Tightening and over-tensioning machine tests. Carry out engineering applicability verification of supporting construction equipment such as pay-off pulleys and splice protection devices for carbon fiber composite conductors, and check whether the measured performance indicators of carbon fiber composite conductors meet applicable requirements. Tests have shown that key indicators such as on-site display, wire tightening and over-tension machine testing, and wire-pulling pulleys have met conventional power supply requirements, and the test was successful.
As a 2016 key technology project of the State Grid Corporation of China, this research will provide technical support for the large-scale application of carbon fiber in 7 domestic 500 kV power transmission and transformation projects. At present, carbon fiber composite conductors have been applied at home and abroad, but they are mainly used in low and medium voltage transmission lines, because if the cross-sectional area of carbon fiber composite conductors reaches 410 square millimeters or more, its performance indicators will be difficult to meet the requirements of practical standards. Through the technical research of domestic research institutes and production enterprises in recent years, the performance indicators of ultra-high-voltage carbon fiber composite conductors suitable for 500 kV power transmission and transformation projects have been continuously improved.
Carbon fiber composite conductor is an energy-saving capacity-enhancing conductor with a new structure. It is composed of carbon fiber and aluminum or copper wires twisted. The weight of carbon fiber core is only 1/5 of the weight of steel core wire, but its strength is 10 times that of steel core. Conventional power transmission lines have excessively high-temperature arc sags, and the temperature does not exceed 80 ° C. The carbon fiber composite conductor transmission temperature can be increased to 160 ° C, and its power transmission can be doubled.
Participating in this test includes the products of Zhongfu Carbon Core Cable Technology Co., Ltd., which has an annual output of 200,000 kilometers of carbon core cables, which can meet all specifications of transmission lines required by the State Grid. The successful performance test of the ultra-high-pressure carbon fiber wire with large cross section will be a new opportunity for the city's carbon fiber industry.
